Alison Helm Alison Helm's sculpture has been based on the visual language of modernist abstraction. However, like so many younger artists who were schooled on abstract art, she has searched in recent years to put abstraction in the service of a larger dialogue that goes beyond the bounds of strict formalism. The work often subtly connects abstract forms to uplifting Christian symbolism as a personal antidote to the end-game negativity of much of 80's-style contemporary art. Alison Helm lives in rural West Virginia.Click to see full-size image
