Todd Yeager
Born in 1965, Yeager sold his first portrait at age 12. Gaining practice and developing skills in portraiture from drawing movie stars, at age 16 he got his first 35mm camera and began utilizing friends and family as models. In 1985 he started selling artwork at the “Capricorn Gallery' near Washington DC until the death of the gallery director and the subsequent closing of the gallery in the mid 90's. With the core of his work being portraiture and figurative work Yeager says he “often feels somewhat like a historical documentalist, creating accurate representations of real people and places around me, though through an idealized lens”. “I try to give intimate glimpses into others lives while creating works of timelessness that attempt to rival the masters of the craft, from whom I'm always looking to and learning”. Todd Yeager lives in Hagerstown, MD.
