Campbell, Joe

The pottery by Joe Campbell carried at the Gallery Shop has been inspired by vessels made for use in traditional Japanese Tea Ceremonies. All of the pieces, from tea bowls to flower vases, are high-fire stoneware; many have been fired twice to achieve their complex and layered surfaces. Joe had a show at the Washington County Arts Council Gallery in 2009. Other recent exhibits include Chi Contemporary Fine Arts in Brooklyn, NY and Asian Influences Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA.

Joe is a member of the National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts and the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center. He has been a full-time professor at Frederick Community College since 1992, teaching ceramics, design, drawing, and art history
