Schwenk, Mark

Mark Schwenk is a multi-disciplined artist with experience in photography, metal, web graphics, textiles and wood. Mark began his career more than 20 years ago as a self taught artist and later as a photography student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Since 1996, his main focus has been in metal sculpture and blacksmithing. He is the primary blacksmith at Frog Valley Artisans, Ltd. and also the organization’s President and CEO.

Mark credits his love of metal working to a family history that can trace blacksmiths, metal workers and machinists back more than 250 years. With three power hammers, 6 anvils and hundreds of hammers and tongs, he keeps his 4 forges busy making art for galleries and private collectors all over the country.
