ORIGAMI is the Japanese art of folding paper. As a native of Okinawa, Japan, Yukiko was introduced to the art of origami as a young girl. Since leaving Japan, she became more appreciative of the art of origami. All her crafts are handmade using the traditional Japanese origami paper folding technique. Most paper is treated so it will hold its shape. The crane is at the center of her work. In Japan the crane symbolizes peace, long life, a good marriage and good fortune.
