Summer Art Camp 2009
The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. partners with Authentic Community
Theatre, Inc. to support its Summer Institute for the Arts.
 Beginning in the summer of 2009, WCAC will join the Washington County
Public Schools and Authentic Community Theatre, Inc. to provide an expanded
summer arts-camp experience for students in grades K-12. By merging
its own Summer Art Camp at Doub's Woods with the Summer Institute for
the Arts, WCAC envisions increased skills-based and hands-on opportunities
for the students in our area.
In addition to an arts-camp experience
for children, the Summer Institute offers
both an apprenticeship program as well as an internship opportunity for
older
students. Intern and apprentice students will work under the tutelage
and
guidance of experienced art professionals in visual art, music, dance,
theater and
film.
Authentic Community Theatre, Inc.’s philosophy extends the
Washington
County Arts Council’s mission to enrich lives through the arts.
WCAC’s
partnership with the Authentic Community Theatre and support of the Summer
Institute for the Arts promises an exciting and expanded art experience
for our
students.
