WCAC Announces Community Arts Development Grants, Celebrates 39 Years of Serving the Community

awarded more than $20,000 in Community Arts Development funds to nine local arts organizations? projects. Among the recipients are: the Potomac Classical Youth Ballet; the Appalachian Wind Quintet; Authentic Community Theatre; the Maryland Symphony Orchestra; the Hancock Arts Council; Hagerstown Choral Arts; the 12th Annual Western Maryland Blues Fest; Augustoberfest; and the Maryland Theatre.
Formed in 1967, the Arts Council is celebrating 39 years of enriching the cultural, economic, educational and social life of the community through nurturing the arts. Washington County?s Arts Council is one of the oldest in the state of Maryland.
The Washington County Arts Council is supported by a grant from the
Maryland State Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of Maryland
and the National Endowment for the Arts.
