DISCOVERY STATION holds corporate open house
(Hagerstown, MD) -- The Discovery Station, located in downtown
Hagerstown at 101 West Washington Street, will hold its first Corporate
Open House for business and community leaders on January 31st from 5pm
to 7pm.
The announcement was made by Chairman of the Board, and Discovery
Station Executive Director Marie Byers, "We excited to be hosting this
first-ever Corporate Open House at Discovery Station. This gives
business and community leaders the chance to learn about the hands-on
science center, and the company benefits and corporate opportunities."
Marie Byers said the event was also a "special sneak peek at the latest
and newest exhibits at Discovery Station."
The catered Corporate Open House is an invitation-only event. Volunteer
staff and board-members will be on hand to meet and greet attendees, and
mingle throughout the spacious Downtown Hagerstown museum.
According to Discovery Station Board-Member Bill McGovern, "Companies
can join Discovery Station, and have a large number of benefits. These
include admission and gift shop discounts, free-use of event space, and
employee-recognition opportunities. Corporate memberships are being
taken advantage by a number of local businesses."
Discovery Station at Hagerstown creates exciting hands-on learning
experiences that stimulate a curiosity for discovery, exploration and
further investigation by children and adults to foster life-long
learning. The programs and interactive exhibits on science, technology
and history are unique educational resources available to all of its
visitors.
Since opening in May 2005, Discovery Station at Hagerstown has been
welcomed by the community, and its diverse visitors as an outstanding
example of an interactive museum that serves people of all ages and
interests.
Discovery Station is also the home of the Hagerstown Aviation Museum,
which is included in museum admission. There will be new exhibits and
displays at the museum, during the Corporate Open House.
