As a child, and even into adulthood, I’ve always enjoyed mysteries. I often wondered how I could put a humorous twist on the classic Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. So I played with the idea of incorporating animal characters/characteristics that fit the “H” in Holmes and “W” in Watson. The “H” for hound was easy enough, but I struggled a bit coming up with a compatible animal partner that started with a “W” (just wasn’t picturing a walrus as a good partner for a hound dog). So I went to characteristics of animals and always thought it was cute the way ducks waddle as they walk, so the duck character of Mr. Waddles was born.
