Open to U.S. resident artists at least 18 yrs. old. Exception: Artists currently represented by FIRST STREET GALLERY. Eligible works include ORIGINAL oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, prints, photography, mixed media, and sculpture in any medium. No video, film, installation, giclées or similar reproductions. All Wall - hung Work (2D or 3D): including frame, may not exceed 44 inches in width. No height limits. Maximum depth: 10 inches. Maximum weight: 30 lbs. All 2D work must be suitably framed (or sides cleanly finished or painted), wired, and ready for hanging. D - rings should be used for heavy works. 2D works on paper must be framed under plexiglass or glass. Must have securely attached wire or another fixture(s) to hang. No work can be hung from ceiling or pipes. Any special fixtures needed for installation should be sent/brought with work. Standing sculpture ONLY: Maximum weight is 50 lbs. Maximum width or depth of sculpture is 30 inches. No height limits. Sculptors must provide floor stand with a maximum footprint of 30" x 30". (The gallery has a small number of stands which may be available for small sculpture; if your work is chosen, please contact the gallery immediately if you wish to use one of ours.)

ABOUT THE JUROR

Nancy Margolis Gallery, established in New York City in the 1990's, was one of the first galleries to locate in Chelsea. Followed by a period in SoHo, the gallery returned to the Chelsea art district in 2003 to its current street level location on 25th Street. International in scope, Nancy Margolis Gallery features contemporary painting, works on paper, and sculpture by emerging to established artists. The gallery's stable of artists, selected for their unique aesthetic language and fascinating vision, are represented in major public and private collections including Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Danish Museum of Decorative Arts, Copenhagen; The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC; The Mint Museum, NC; The Museum of Arts and Design, NY; The Guggenheim Museum, NY; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.
