National Juried Exhibition at Larkin Arts
Call for Artists
This is a national juried visual art competition and exhibition that is open to any artist who is a resident of the United States and is over the age of 18, working in two-dimensional media. Painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and mixed media works with a maximum depth of five inches; as well as other traditional or non-traditional two-dimensional media, excluding film, are welcome.
Juror: KRISTEN CHIACCHIA is the Executive Director and Chief Curator at Second Street Gallery, a 501(c) 3 art space in Charlottesville, Virginia. Prior to joining Second Street Gallery in September 2016, Chiacchia was Director at Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art in New York, where she organized exhibitions of work by Ed Ruscha, Joan Mitchell, Hew Locke, Andres Serrano, Farideh Lashai and Pop Art and Abstract Expressionist Masters. During her more than 13 years with ETNFA, she was also instrumental in securing the gallery’s participation in a number of international art fairs including Art Basel fairs in Switzerland, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong, as well as ARCO Madrid and Abu Dhabi Art. While living and working in NYC, Chiacchia was a participating member of the Neue Galerie, the Apollo Circle at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Young Collectors Council at the Guggenheim Museum; and the Whitney Contemporaries at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Chiacchia received her BA in the History of Art & Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her MA in Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies at Columbia University. She also completed a Certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts at New York University.
Jury Dates: August 5-19
Exhibition inclusions will be juried from digital media, so quality is essential.
Artists may submit up to two (2) works for the non-refundable fee of $35. Artists may submit up to four (4) additional works for the non-refundable fee of $10 per entry. Artist may submit no more than 6 entries total.
All works entered must have been created within the last three (3) years.
