Opening on October 7, Marion L. Griffin and Lori N. Rounds will have an exhibition called “Mysterious Intentions” at Frederick Community College.
Marion Griffin will show a series of paintings titled “The Quiet Within the Noise.” “There is a sacred darkness that unfolds in the ruins of India,” she says. “There are harsh places, grave poverty, echoes of ancestors and many uncertainties.
“My new body of work reflects the beauty of India’s most unique and sacred places, the colors and sounds of the ancient evenings, the quietness of the shrines, the gentleness of the people, and the cacophony of this most exotic, hallowed land.”

Lori Rounds will show a series of work titled “Patterns of Change.” “I enjoy the creative and expressive freedom that art brings into my life,” she says. “In this new series I have applied a unique process, encaustic monotypes, to the creation of colorful, contemporary abstract paintings.
“As the world around me continues to change, I frequently turn to the creation of art for the calming effect it affords me. When I paint, I like to stay in the moment and let the patterns that emerge completely surprise me. It is through this process that I am able to adapt to and even embrace the rhythm and patterns of change in life.”
