March 23, 2013The Washington County Arts Council is pleased to announce its April 2013 exhibits, “A Maryland Decade” by Patrick Hiatt and "The Eye Test 2" by Benita Keller's Hagerstown Community College Advanced Photography Class. “Hiatt's work is strongly oriented toward drawing the human figure and incorporates broad interest in history and mythology. His paintings of Pan, of Dancing Satyrs, of Chirion and Perseus are elegant, romantic and accessible all at once.” Ron Cassie News-Post Staff, Frederick News Post, January 31, 2008 Benita Keller is a freelance fine art photographer, photojournalist, and artist. She has taught photography at Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, WV; Hagerstown Community College, Hagerstown, Md.; The Art Institute of Washington, Washington, DC; and The Montgomery College of Art & Design, Silver Spring, Md. Keller was listed as one of the top 100 photographers in the United States by the Ernst Haas Award. She is also in the archives of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington. DC, and was a runner up for the Dorothy Lange and Paul Strand Photography Award. The Washington County Arts Council will host an opening reception on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 5-7 pm at the gallery located at 34-36 S Potomac Street in the Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Hagerstown.
