August 30, 2013The Washington County Arts Council is pleased to announce its September 2013 exhibit, “Lee Weaver: Paintings”. After graduating college with a degree in education, Mr. Weaver became an art teacher in the Maryland public school system. During summers he worked as a coordinator and director in the state's Gifted and Talented Summer Centers. Eventually Mr. Weaver became Supervisor of Fine Arts for Washington County Maryland. Lee currently lives in Sharpsburg, Maryland with his wife, Cindy. He finds daily inspiration for his art through a love of the outdoors. Now in retirement, he has more time to focus on painting and the sketchbook can “go out the door” and the studio lights can “go on” daily. The Washington County Arts Council will host an opening reception on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 5-7 pm at the gallery located at 34 S. Potomac Street in the Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Hagerstown. The exhibits run from 9/6/2013 through 10/1/2013.
