Donna has lived in Bedford County, PA for all her life. Growing up between Wills Mountain and Wills Creek, there was always something to explore in the world of nature. Donna spent much of her time doing just that. However there were days that had to be spent indoors and that is when the pastels and colored pencils would come out and the day would be spent emulating the objects that Donna saw around her. Donna continued to work with pastels and colored pencils and eventually, with the aid of several friends in the Cumberland area formed the Greater Cumberland District Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America based in Cumberland, Md but formed to serve Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Donna offers pastel, colored pencil and drawing workshops in the Cumberland area, at her home studio and also at Allegany College of Maryland. Over the years, Donna has enjoyed sharing what she knows about painting with pastel. Donna also teaches coloredpencils, pastel classes at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County, Johnstown, Paand in Indiana, Pa. Donna is a member of the Pittsburgh Pastel Artists League, Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators, Pencil Art Society, National Art Educators Assoc., the Allegany Art Counciland the Western Maryland Watercolor Society and the Colored Pencil Society of America. “Being creative brings peace to my soul.”
