Jannon Elisabeth Baer is a visual artist who grew up and lives in Washington County. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting with a minor in printmaking from Shepherd University. As a freelance painter, Jannon has displayed artwork in Baltimore and throughout Western Maryland and also takes requests for commissions. Past exhibition locations include:
Jannon’s work is inspired by nature, the elements, and seasonal cycles, often building from photographs she captures while communing with nature. Many of her creations take the form of expressive abstract landscapes using a palette rich with acrylic colors and mixed-media collage. Additionally, she showcases her art through hand-painted greeting cards.

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. is funded by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, (MSAC), an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities. Funding for the MSAC is also provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, which believes that a great nation deserves great art. Additional funding is also provided by Washington County Government and generous businesses, organizations and individuals.
