Call for Submissions

The Saville Gallery of the Allegany Arts Council is accepting submissions for its February 2-24, 2019, exhibition, entitled Make Me Blush: Celebrating the Human Form.

Make Me Blush is an exhibition which will center on the nude model and human form. Artists are invited to submit up to four (4) works in any 2-D or 3-D medium. This juried competition will offer artists the opportunity to receive cash prizes and will feature a Public Opening on Saturday, February 2, 2019.

Guest Artist: Pooja Campbell

The exhibition will also include guest artist and juror, Pooja Campbell. Campbell’s career has included exhibitions in Washington, DC, Baltimore, New York, and abroad in India and Canada.

She was included in the 2017 International Gallery at Thurgood Marshall International Airport in Baltimore hosted by Maryland’s First Lady, Yumi Hogan, and she was a finalist in the 2017 City of Alexandria, Virginia’s, Community Supported Art project.

Media: Any 2-D or 3-D work based upon the nude model
Works: Juried artwork must be professionally presented and wired for hanging. Artwork may not exceed 30" in width and 96" in height.
Entry Fee: $15.00 for up to four (4) works

How to Enter

Artists wishing to enter the exhibition should do the following:

▪ Complete the attached form and send up to four (4) images to be reviewed by the juror for entry into the exhibition. Images should be sent via e-mail to jwestendorff@alleganyarts.org.
▪ Payment may be made by completing the payment information on the entry form or may be made by calling the Allegany Arts Council at 301.777.ARTS(2787). Payment must be received in order to be reviewed by the juror.

Requirements for image files:
File format: JPEG only, saved with title and artist initials
File dimensions: No smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side
File resolution: 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)
File size: 3 MB maximum
Image must be correctly oriented (vertical or horizontal)
Works should be for sale: Allegany Arts Council will collect a 35% commission.
