In my series, I explore the concept of acceptance camouflage through the lens of Afro-Futurism, a genre that envisions a future where Black culture is celebrated, empowered, and embraced. Through my art, I aim to evoke a dialogue about identity, belonging, and the power of embracing one's unique heritage. My inspiration for this series also draws from historical references, particularly World War I, where battleships utilized a " dazzle " technique to camouflage their ships. This juxtaposition of historical influence with futuristic themes adds depth and intrigue to the visual narratives I present in my artworks. By blending contemporary art techniques with thought-provoking concepts, my topographical art series seeks to challenge perceptions, provoke contemplation, and celebrate the diversity and resilience of individuals within our society.
