My work is a representation of how I think, and how I process my emotions. Finding the words to express when I can’t find them. I use digital and traditional analog photography techniques to express these ideas of my life in a conceptual perspective. Depicting conversations such as self-worth, religious guilt, sexual assault, and hopelessness. Using myself as a model, I directly insert myself into my work. Whenever I don’t directly insert myself, I still use the lens to show how I see the world; having the lens become my eyes. The subject matters should be talked about more – helping bring light to people who could be oblivious to the things that happen behind closed doors. I put in details that are intentionally placed to help the experience come to life, allowing the viewer to join my perspective of the world. From dramatic lighting, to my unique compositions and sequences, I draw the viewer in right with my eyes. My work is a way for me to take time and create something that will start conversations, no matter how taboo they might be. My goal is to make the viewer think of these subjects that are unmentionable and realize that these subjects are important to talk about to help the growth of society.
