Calling All Artists!
"Maryland's America: 250 Years of American History
Through Marylander Eyes" Exhibit

The Star-Spangled Banner Flag House (Flag House) is putting out an open call for submissions of artwork samples for participation in the upcoming exhibit, "Maryland's America: 250 Years of American History through Marylander Eyes." The open call is for Maryland artists across the state and we will select eight individuals representing the broad and diverse geographical and demographic population of the state.

Selected artists will be asked to create a unique piece that examines the last 250 years of American history through the lives and experiences of Marylanders past and present. The exhibit will run from July, 2026 to July, 2028.

Additionally, the selected artists will be invited to participate in an exclusive program in partnership with Fort McHenry National Historic site and the Pride of Baltimore II, a recreation of the historical Baltimore clipper ships. This program will have the selected individuals take a complimentary sail through Baltimore's harbor to the location Francis Scott Key witnessed the Star-Spangled Banner being raised triumphantly over Fort McHenry and recreate this historical witness.
